Triathlon Event 2015

Oscar Maclean Foundation Triathlon

The Jersey Triathlon 2015 raised £30,000 for the Oscar Maclean Foundation.

The local charity is in memory of Oscar Maclean, who died of a brain tumour, and aims to provide additional support to local children suffering from cancer and other chronic illnesses, as well as their families.

Of the 400 athletes who took part in the Triathlon, 125 represented ‘Team Oscar,’ which had been chosen as the official charity of the event.

The money will now let the charity implement its first project.

“My family and I are so moved by the enormous support from so many people in the community and further afield. Not only the extraordinary fundraising total, achieved by all the athletes and supporters, not just Team Oscar, but the personal achievements, the months of training, the dedication and the passion displayed was humbling and I know Oscar would have been very proud as he looked down on us all.”

– NARA MACLEAN, OSCAR’S MOTHER AND FOUNDER OF THE OSCAR MACLEAN FOUNDATION
